The local brewery in Lofoten
Lofotpils started brewing beer in Svolvær in 2014 and has contributed to putting Lofoten on the map as a culinary region. Lofotpils has a diversity in their brewing recipes to fit the classic local cuisine. They have played an important part in developing the Lofoten islands as a culinary location.
Lofotpils is the only microbrewery in Norway to produce pilsner. The reason is that to brew pilsner, the water must be pure. Other breweries have to buy very expensive equipment to purify the water, but the water in Svolvær is pure enough coming straight from nature to produce pilsner without purifying it.
