MS Discovery is the civilian version of the Staff-class Norwegian search and rescue vessels, and the only one of its kind. With a max speed of 42 knots, a furnished cabin, and a capacity for 11 passengers, this is a comfortable boat. The high speed makes it possible to experience a lot in a short period of time, and the cabin makes it possible to enjoy a nice meal on board.
MS Discovery is based at Kleppstad at the southern end of Gimsøystraumen and is thus perfectly situated in the middle of Lofoten. This is a perfect starting point for fishing trips because it is just as easy to go north to the outside of the islands as it is to go south into Vestfjorden, depending on where the fishing is good. During the Lofoten Seasonal Fisheries, the fish will first approach the outside of the islands, before it moves into Vestfjorden.

MS Discovery can transport your group from Lofoten to Tromsø in 3,5 hours, which is significantly faster than by car, and you get to see Vesterålen, the outside of Senja and hopefully some whales along the way.
